Academic Excellence with a Catholic Vision.

Jeannie Batten

d

Mrs. Batten started SJNRCS as a substitute teacher in 1991 when her children started attending. During years when she wasn’t on the staff, she was a very active parent volunteer for many areas and needs for the school. In 1996, became a part time PE teacher but was not able to become full time. She stayed on as a daily and full-time substitute.

In 1998, she rejoined the staff as a part-time teacher and has been here ever since. Mrs. Batten is not only the facilitator of two of our biggest student events every year the Fall Festival and Neu-lympics but she is the one that keeps our children safe. She helps set, check, and test all of our safety protocols and does a phenomenal job. You will see her at almost every event supporting existing students and she even makes the effort to do so for alumni when she can. She is our basketball and volleyball teams biggest cheerleader.

Mrs. Batten received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and her Masters in Instructional Education from Central Michigan University. She has taught Physical Education in NC, MD, VA, and GA. Her four grown children all graduated from SJNRCS where she feels they received excellent educations. She states, “Catholic Education was a wonderful opportunity for my children and has been a dream job for me as an educator.”
