Media Center

The Media Center serves as the primary foundation of current educational and recreational reading resources for students and teachers. There are over 15,000 books, DVDs, and periodicals available as well as various digital resources on campus and accessible remotely to enhance student learning.  Mrs. Bayer is ready to assist you in the Media Center!

Donate books to our Media Center in honor of a loved one’s birthday- be it a child, a spouse, a teacher or a friend. With the gift of this birthday tribute, our Media Center becomes the richer, and the special nameplate placed in the front of the book records the individual’s name and birth date for posterity.

To assure that books will not be duplicated and will complement our collection, a variety of books are selected that are popular with students and teachers. These books are on display in our Media Center throughout the year and you can make your selection at any time. If you live out of town I would be happy to select a book for your student(s).Your $20 donation is used to purchase the selected book and add it to our collection.

If your book is for a student:

On your student’s birthday (or another day that you designate) the Morning Announcements will broadcast that your student has a Birthday Book. The book is checked out and delivered with a pencil and a bookmark by 8th Grade students who sing a special birthday song while presenting the book. Once your student returns the book to the SJN Media Center, it will become a part of our permanent collection.

Children are delighted to have a book in the Media Center that carries their name and to read the names of others who have been so honored. The donation of a Birthday Book is a legacy worth leaving that continues to reward young readers throughout their years at SJN.
